CARBURES has gone from being a university spin off, formed by a small group of academic experts,to become an international company, with more than 900 employees that operates in seven countries from three continents.

 

1999

A spin off from the Cádiz University, Chemistry school, was created. Airbus - formerly CASA - turned to the composite materials academic experts for advice as they had some difficulties with one of its plane pieces and its  manufacturing process. The aerospace giant and a spin off from the Cádiz University created a work group that solved those difficulties.

2002

The university spin off leads to creating the company Easy Industrial Solutions.

2009

A public land transfer agreement is signed between Spanish public airports company AENA and the company ATLANTIC COMPOSITES.

2011

CARBURES, as it is known nowadays, is created by the merger of Composites Atlantic and Easy Industrial Solutions. 

This year, CARBURES creates CARBURES USA and enters the American market with presence in both coasts (Florida and Washington State). The USA subsidiary starts as a manufacturer of parts for electric buses. Then it diversified into the aerospace industry and civil works.

Also this year, CARBURES creates a joint Venture with a Chinese partner to create Carbures China (Harbin Carbures Guanglian Composite Aeronautic co.)

2012

CARBURES is listed March 23, at a starting price of €1.08 per share.

2014

In February, CARBURES acquires automotive company MAPRO, a Spanish company that produces and commercializes car manufacturing assembly lines.

In May, CARBURES acquires aXcep, a German automotive engineering company, specialized in improving and including safety elements and systems in vehicles for major global manufacturers, such as BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover or Pininfarina Italian engineering.  

In July, CARBURES signs a MOU for the acquisition of Spanish engineering company Technical and Racing Composites (TRC), a technological company specialized in the production of composite prototypes and components for different industries but mainly for the automotive one.  

Also in July, CARBURES signs three different contracts, adding $97 million, with Chinese company Shenyang Hengrui for the commercialization of car manufacturing assembly lines for carbon fiber parts. 

2015

Carbures is in this year in a period of organic growth through a process of consolidation and synergies within the companies of the Group. The manufacture of aircraft parts has reached its production record and, on the other hand, the Company moves forward, at a constant speed, in the manufacture of car parts in carbon fiber. Furthermore, the company takes the first steps for the manufacture of composite structures for civil works, specifically for the oil sector.
